Set in the grounds of Paddington Farm in Glastonbury, the Family Festival is two and a half days of performance, workshops and music geared towards families.

This year’s performances include Queen Bee, Professor Eek and The Disappointing Clown Company (who will be causing chaos throughout the weekend!), Tor Theatre’s new family show The Fire Catcher will be performed, and world-renowned puppet theatre company Noisy Oyster are appearing with Plain Bob (Friday only). Paddy Bramwells (host of the Outside Circus Stage at Glastonbury) will be comparing throughout the festival, and has promised to resurrect his fantastic magic show on the Saturday. More acts to be announced nearer the festival dates.

Among the workshops, Higher Beings will be running circus skills workshops (Friday and Saturday) along with their aerial show, and Fuse Somerset Outdoor Arts will take over for the Sunday.

There will also be Hula Hooping workshops all weekend, Yeast Scrapstore will be bringing their create and play space, and there’s also a chance to make friendship bands, dreamcatchers, as well as felting and copper jewellery workshops.

The resident Blacksmith at Paddington, Sam Smith, will be demonstrating his craft over the weekend, while Sym from MoAUK (and the Rogues Gallery shop on Glastonbury High Street) will be demonstrating graffiti art on Friday.

There will be a climbing wall and bouncy castles, as well as a Family Wellbeing area run by Figured Fitness, including Tai Chi, Yoga and Aerobics for families. Also, there will be a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party area with music, art and poetry put together by Rosie Temple Morris. A small market and delicious refreshments, including burgers of many varieties from Tor Rugby Minis & Juniors, will also be onsite.

Prices are £5 daily and are available online or you can pay at the gate. Details of the event, including how to book online, can be found by following the Children’s World or Paddington Farm Facebook pages.
